STRATEGIC PLANNING
ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTITY
PROGEL's Mission:
To promote interdisciplinary education in research, teaching, and extension for professionals in the field of language studies, contributing to social transformation through reflection and the production of scientific knowledge on the role of language, with an impact on society.
PROGEL's Vision:
To establish itself as a reference graduate program in interdisciplinary professional training that critically engages in research, teaching, and extension, expanding various approaches to language studies at both regional and national levels, aiming for the implementation of a doctorate in 2023.
PROGEL's Values:
- Critical Thinking – The ability to observe and investigate how power relations are reflected and refracted in language usage;
- Innovation – The articulation and expansion of educational theory/practice under critical and interdisciplinary perspectives;
- Diversity – Recognition and respect for different human existences and the plurality of knowledge production;
- Inclusion and Accessibility – Prioritizing and encouraging participation from different profiles through the formulation and fostering of actions/strategies that strengthen these values within the program.
Quota Policies and Affirmative Actions
The goal is to maintain and expand the quota policy and affirmative actions within PROGEL, in accordance with Resolution CEPE/UFRPE No. 444, of May 17, 2022, which establishes the affirmative action policy aimed at promoting the admission and retention of Black (Afro-Brazilian), Indigenous, disabled, and transgender individuals in Graduate Studies (Stricto sensu and Lato sensu) at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. This applies to each of the two research lines in their student selection processes.
The increase in the number of beneficiaries will occur in line with the growth of student admissions into the program, which currently admits 30 students per selection process.
